NITRITE : Griess mono-reagent Method

Range:  0  –  2  mg/l (N- NO2)

PRINCIPLE

The automated procedure for the determination of Nitrite is an adaptation of the diazotization method of “Standard Methods”. Under acidic conditions nitrite ion reacts with sulfamic acid to yield a diazo compound which couples with  N-1-naphthylene-diamine  to form a soluble dye which is measured colorimetrically.

The color intensity is measured at 520 nm
